CSc 114 Section E

This is the planned schedule for the semester. If there's a need to make changes, I will try to do so as early as possible.

Lectures meet in MCC 105, and labs meet in MCC 209. Come to 209 on days when a lecture and a lab are both scheduled. Lab 2.2 is an exception, and we will meet in MCC 105 on that day. On exam days, the exam will use the first half-hour of class, and the lecture part will begin at 2:00pm. We'll generally stay in 209 rather than taking the trouble to move downstairs, but I may make exceptions if needed.

I like to give the six small exams rather than fewer larger ones. On a MWF schedule, I can just use a day for each exam, but I can't do this when meeting twice a week and still get through a reasonable amount of lecture material. In the past, I've had the lecture first so students can leave when they finish the exam. Of course, the class worries about the exam instead of paying attention to the lecture. This term I'm going to try it the other way, so students who finish exams quickly will get to wait. Some games you just can't win.

The last day to drop this course is Friday, October 26.
