Mid-Term Site |
Due: Mar 26 |
Choose any topic of interest to you.
This may be related to your major, to some hobby, or whatever
you like. Create a web site presenting your
subject in an attractive way. Organize it as a home page and
some number of additional pages.
Follow the design rules we have
discussed. Some things to consider:
- Use an attractive color scheme, and use it consistently between
your pages.
- Use a consistent layout, perhaps including a logo image,
to give your pages a sense of unity.
- Make your site easy to navigate: make the pages easy to find,
and consider what organization you will use (see ch. 4).
Make sure you can get back to the home page from any other page.
- Consider using one of the standard grid types from Ch. 5.
- Follow the usability and accessibility guidelines from Ch. 4.
There are also some technical requirements:
- Create at least four pages total, your home plus three more.
You may create more pages of course.
- In addition, create an external style sheet.
Each of your pages must use it.
- Use at least two images. They may be photos or
diagrams, but must be relevant. You may use more, of course.
- You must have at least five links to external pages.
They should be relevant to your topic.
- Otherwise, using more of the technical features is better, but
not if it makes the site less attractive or less usable.
Unlike the smaller projects, you will be graded on both
the technical requirement and the aesthetics of your site.
Name your project home page mid.html and save it in your
account on Sandbox.
I'll use a browser to view your pages, and also the XHTML code.
