This is a simple assignment to practice transferring files.
Please do the following:
- Unpack this zip file.
The best way is probably to download it and save it, then open it.
Depending on your browser configuration, clicking on the link will
either download the file, open it, or (most likely) offer you the choice. To
download specifically, right click and choose save as.
- Click on the file
to unpack it.
Any recent version of Windows will offer to unpack it for you.
- Take the file with your name and
use FTP to transfer the file to your local_html directory (folder) on the
Sandbox server. It will then be visible on the web under the
URL http://sandbox.mc.edu/~yourid/filename. (Yes, the
URL will end with .txt. That's okay.)
The files contain quips or sayings from the old Unix fortune program,
selected at random.
I'll use a browser to check that your file is there.
