You can use this page to encrypt or decrypt a file using the same methods as the aescrypt program. Simply select a file to encrypt or decrypt, fill in the desired key, and press Go. You should get a dialog to save your encrypted (or decrypted) file. The page will use your key to encrypt the file you send, unless it has an extension of .aes, in which case it will decrypt.

If you're serious about keeping your data private, you would do better to install aescrypt (or some alternative) than to use this page. While the resulting encrypted file is equally protected using either method, encryption using this page requires sending the plaintext file to the server for processing. While it is there, you have no way to know what happens to it, including whether a copy is retained.

Using an encryption program installed on your own computer avoids these problems. This page is a convience to complete the assignment.
